How to score resumes without auto-rejecting candidates

Decision-support scoring is not the same as automated rejection. A safer pattern for small hiring teams and solo recruiters.

Automated rejection feels efficient until a strong candidate is filtered out for the wrong reason — or until a stakeholder asks how the system decided.

Separate scoring from decisions

Use AI to rate criteria and highlight evidence. Keep advance, hold, and pass decisions with humans. ReviewStack is built around that split: humans make the hiring call.

Confirm the rubric first

Before scoring, confirm 3–6 job-relevant criteria, weights, and anchors. A shared rubric reduces ad-hoc bias between reviewers.

“Not found” is not an automatic fail

Missing evidence on a must-have should trigger human look, not a silent reject. That keeps explainable screening honest.
