PDF and DOCX resume limits that affect AI screening quality
Searchable text, page caps, OCR for scans, and how file quality affects explainable scoring.
Explainable screening depends on extractable text. Image-only scans need OCR; corrupt or encrypted files should be rejected early.
What ReviewStack supports
PDF and DOCX, up to 100 files per batch, 10 MB and 20 pages each. Text-layer PDFs extract directly; scanned PDFs can use OCR when enabled.
Practical tip
Ask candidates for text-based PDFs when possible. Pure parse failures with no OCR or scoring call release reserved quota; once paid OCR or scoring runs, that attempt settles.
